The essence of Sri Ramayana
Slokam
Yaanti nyaaya pravrttasya tiryancopi sahaayataam
Apanthaanam tu gacchantam sodaropi vimuncati
Translation
(He who journeys in the righteous path is helped by animals even; He who chooses the condemnable path is abandoned by his brother even)
Explanation
This slokam identifies the personality who should be our role model. Rama always stood by dharma and His journey was through the righteous path. He was helped by monkeys, supposed to have a shaky mind, in the search for Sita and even squirrels in building a bridge across the sea. Every one would extend help, even though it may take a while, on realising our dharmic character. Quite opposite was Ravana who chose the adharmic condemnable path and eventually was abandoned by his brother Vibheeshana. There was no one to bereave after his death.
The moral is - Follow dharma and support the right.
